Gas fluid properties, such as density and heating value are customarily determined using analyses from a gas chromatograph, combined with equations of state. But gas chromatographs are expensive to install and require frequent maintenance. The natural gas industry has been looking for a method for determining gas fluid properties without the use of a gas chromatograph for years. Several promising technologies have been developed during that time. LHG staff has experience in this technology including research and developement along with two patents. LHG has participated in the advancement of this technology through consultation with operating companies, manufacturers and research organizations. Consulting activities in this area include: Joint Industry Project organization, market studies and advice about the requirements of such a technology.
